2019 Presidents Cup

Two major champions. A players champion. A first-time assistant captain.

Trevor Immelman, the captain of the International team at the 2022 Presidents Cup in Charlotte at Quail Hollow Club, has some experience among his captain’s picks but also some fresh blood. The International team has assistants from all corners of the globe looking to make history.

The biennial competition is Sept. 22-25 and pits a 12-man International squad (minus the European nations) against a 12-man U.S. team. The Americans lead the all-time series 11-1-1 and has never lost when the matches are staged in the U.S.

K.J. Choi, who played in three editions of the Presidents Cup (2003, 2007 and 2011) and posted a 6-8-0 mark, will be making his third appearance as an assistant captain. He has won eight PGA Tour titles, including the 2011 Players Championship, and one PGA Tour Champions victory. He also has six wins on the Asian Tour. Choi was the first Korean to earn a PGA Tour card. Choi and fellow assistant captain Geoff Ogilvy partnered in the 2011 Presidents Cup to win two Four-ball matches.
