NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Washington junior Camille Boyd opened up the 2022-23 women’s golf season with a seventh-place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship.

Boyd finished under par in all three rounds at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, carding a 1-under 71 on Friday before posting back-to-back scores of 70 Saturday and Sunday. Her 5-under 211 tied her for seventh with one other golfer, four shots behind the tournament medalist.

As a team, Washington finished the three days in 13th place. On the final day, senior and No. 1 starter Brittany Kwon had to withdraw after three holes due to injury.

“It was a tough day for us today,” said head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. “We just could not overcome the absence of Brittany. We’re disappointed, but we will bounce back.”

After Boyd, the Huskies’ next finisher was senior Winnie Ng, who finished the three rounds at 8-over, good for a tie for 41st. Next was freshman Carmen Lim, who was 14-over and tied for 65th. Jamie Hsieh was tied for 70th, with a 17-over par total.

Next for the Huskies is a trip to Chicago, where they’ll play in the Windy City Classic, Oct. 3-4, in suburban Highland Park, Ill.
