VERDANIA HILLS, Ala. – The Mississippi State men’s golf team finished the first two rounds of the SEC Fall Preview on Sunday in a tie for seventh place. Three Bulldogs finished the day in the top 20 in a field of 70 golfers.

“I am proud of how we competed today,” head coach Dusty Smith said. “I thought we did a good job finishing strong in the first round. Ford Clegg and Hunter Logan really hung tough in the first round and gave us some meaningful rounds. I can’t say enough about how Garrett Endicott handled the day. He battled hard in the first round and carried that momentum over into the second round, giving us a huge boost with his 64. Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day; we are looking forward to this opportunity and we will learn a lot from the day.”

Endicott led the Bulldogs through two rounds of play. After shooting even par in the first round, he came back to shoot 6-under through the second round to jolt him into a tie for ninth place. He shot four birdies on both the front and back nine, with four consecutive birdies on Holes No. 12-15.

Logan finished the day tied for 19th, shooting 68s in both rounds. He carded an eagle on the No. 6 tee in the second round.

Clegg got off to a hot start for Mississippi State, shooting 4-under in the first round. He finished the day at 3-under and sits in a nine-way tie for 19th place.

Austin Vukovits shot an eagle on the No. 6 hole in the first round and is currently 3-over through two rounds. Harrison Davis shot a bogey-free front nine in the first round and sank three consecutive birdies on holes No. 15-17 in the second round.

Mississippi State will be paired with Ole Miss and Alabama for the final round of stroke play on Monday, and will tee off from the No. 1 tee in 10-minute intervals from 8:00 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. CT.
