LIVE SCORING

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Playing in cool, and at times rainy, conditions on a championship venue, the Ohio State men’s golf team faired very well through nearly two rounds of the Inverness Intercollegiate on Monday at the famed Inverness Club.

Junior Maxwell Moldovan continues to impress as he is 5-under par with a couple of holes remaining in his second round. He opened with a strong round of 3-under 68 that included six birdies in the brisky morning temperatures. Moldovan is currently in second place.

As a team, the Buckeyes are fourth in the 16-team field after the first day. They posted a 290 in the morning and battled the conditions well in the afternoon.

Adam Wallin shot a 2-over 73 in the first round and is just 1-over in his second round with two holes to play. Wallin made a pair of birdies on his final two before darkness fell.

Neal Shipley had a tough opening round but rebounded well and played steady in the afternoon. He made a birdie and just two bogeys as he’s 1-over with a hole to play.

Freshman Topher Reed and Joe Wilson IV made their Buckeye debuts on Monday. They both opened with a 74 in the first round and Reed is holding steady at 2-over in the second. Wilson IV is close behind at 5-over in the second round. He had a great start to his collegiate career, making birdie on his first two holes.

JonErik Alford contributed a nice 75 in the opening round on Monday morning.
