LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Pierce Grieve of the University of Louisville men’s golf team finished at 1-over-par to tie for seventh at the Inverness Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
As a team, the Cardinals tied for fifth with fellow Atlantic Coast Conference foe Notre Dame at 21-over-par. The Cardinals carded final scores of 289-294-290=873. Texas Tech won the tournament at 1-over-par, while Georgia Tech was second at 7-over-par and Oklahoma was third at 11-over.
The native of Lake Forest, Ill., posted his best finish of his career in one of the most competitive events of his tenure. Grieve shot 71-71-72=214. The sophomore shot two rounds of equal par on Monday before closing with a 1-over-par 72 during Tuesday’s final round.
Jiri Zuska and Max Kennedy each finished in a tie for 28th place after closing the tournament with a 7-over-par 220. Zuska carded rounds of 73-74-73=220, while Kennedy fired scores of 72-74-74=220.
Sebastian Moss and Andrew Tan both finished in a tie for 45th place, closing play with an 11-over-par 224.
Louisville returns to action on Oct. 3-5 at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
