Men's Golf Closes Play At SEC Fall Preview


VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – Mississippi State men’s golf was defeated by Florida, 3-and-2, on Tuesday in match play on the final day of the SEC Fall Preview.

Ford Clegg and Garrett Endicott were both victors in their matches. Clegg secured his win against Ricky Castillo with a two-point lead after the No. 17 hole. He took the lead from the first tee and held it for five holes. After the match was evened, he fell down a hole on the No. 11 tee, but regained it on Hole 13.

Endicott defeated Parker Bell, 3-and-2, and never trailed across 16 holes. At one point he led by four holes.

Harrison Davis lost his match to Florida’s John DuBois by one hole. He won the opening hole but fell behind on tee No. 7. Davis tied the match three separate times on the back nine before DuBois took a one-point lead on the No. 17 pin that he would hold.

Austin Vukovits lost his match to Fred Biondi. Vukovits tied the match on the second tee, but Biondi regained the lead on the No. 5 green. He would hold that for the rest of the round. Hunter Logan fell to Quentin Debove, 5-and-4.

The Bulldogs will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Oct. 3 for the three-day Blessings Collegiate Invitational at Blessings Golf Club.
