COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri women’s golf team shot a 6-over 294 on day two of the Johnie Imes, finishing two strokes behind the leader, Lipscomb, to head into the final round tomorrow.
Senior Sophia Yoemans and freshmen Addie Dobson and Melanie Walker all carded a 1-over 73. Dobson jumped out to a strong start, sinking three birdies within six holes to fire a 2-under on the front-nine. Both Junior Emily Staples and graduate student Sky Sload posted a 3-over 75. Staples, Yoemans, and Walker all enter the final round at T-8, while Dobson and Sload are at T-17.
Freshman Jade Zamora continued to lead the Mizzou individuals, firing a 1-under 71 to tally her first career round under-par. Her performance was anchored by three birdies and moved her up 27 spots on the leaderboard to sit at T-22. Sophomore Julie Huggins bounced back from day one to post a 1-over 73. Seniors Brianne Bolden and Olivia Sowers rounded out the Tigers with a 4-over 76 and 9-over 81, respectively.
