No. 4 Gamecocks Open Play in Windy City Monday – University of South Carolina Athletics

Carolina faces another strong field this week, All-American Rydqvist to make season debut

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – No. 4 South Carolina will open play on Monday at the Windy City Collegiate Classic in its second tournament of the fall slate. Teams will play 36 holes tomorrow at Exmoor Country Club with the final round set for Tuesday.

Another strong field of competition awaits the Gamecocks with eight teams also ranked in the latest WGCA Coaches Poll. Four of those teams are ranked in the top-10 led by No. 3 Virginia and No. 5 Texas.

Carolina finished T-4th in a strong field at the season-opening ANNIKA Intercollegiate back in mid-September. Eleven of those 12 teams were ranked in the top-25.

Sophomore All-American Hannah Darling has the top spot in the lineup this week. She’s joined again by senior Mathilde Claisse, freshman Mia Sandtorv Lussand and graduate transfer Kathering Muzi. Sophomore All-American Louise Rydqvist will make her debut this week. Senior Justine Fournand will compete as an individual.

Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.

South Carolina will be paired with No. 7 Oregon and Arizona for the opening two rounds on Monday. Muzi will lead things off at 10 a.m. (ET) on hole one. Darling will be the final Gamecock off at 10:36 a.m.
