Crockett, Jabenis in Top 25 at Purdue Invite


Grant Jabenis and Harry Crockett are solidly in the top-25 as the Nebraska men’s golf team kicked off their two-day run at the Purdue Fall Invitational Monday. 

Jabenis, the true freshman from Omaha, Nebraska, posted a 74 (+2) in his first round before carding a 71 (-1) in round two to vault up to 11th on the leaderboard in his first collegiate action. Crockett (Oxted, England) put up two solid rounds of 73 to sit in a tie for 18th. 

Sitting just outside the top-25 is Evan McDermott. McDermott, the true freshman from Spring Lake, Mich., shot a 74 (+2) in his first round before putting up another 74 (+2) which featured eight birdies and sits in a tie for 27th place.

Nebraska, as a team, put up a two-round score of 295-293=588 (+12) to sit in seventh place among 15 teams. 

Davis Johnson, competing individually in his first collegiate action at the nearby Ackerman-Allen golf course, posted an 81 (+9) and a 74 (+2) in his two rounds Monday to sit in a tie for 35th.
