The Scarlet Knights battled through difficult conditions, with temperatures in the mid-40s and winds of 10-15 mph throughout both rounds of play on Monday.
After an opening-round 305, Rutgers improved to 299 for the second round, which was the only round of the day played under 300.
As a team, RU leads the field in Par 3 scoring (+10), Par 5 scoring (+2) and total pars (121).
“I am happy with the way the team came back and made some birdies,” head coach Kari Williams said. “We are playing a great golf course with challenging greens and the wind added to the difficulty in the morning. The team really dug in and found a way to get the ball in the hole today, which puts us in a great position heading into tomorrow’s final round. “
