Georgetown Intercollegiate Final Results
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Senior Patrick Sheehan secured a top-10 finish and the Penn State men’s golf team finished third in a strong team field after Tuesday’s final round at the Georgetown Intercollegiate at the Liberty National Golf Club.
The Nittany Lions finished at 14-over, 878, as a team to take third place. Duke (even 864) and Boston College (9-over, 873) claimed the top two spots in the team race.
Sheehan led the way for Penn State, collecting his first top-10 finish of the season and his second-straight top-15 finish. Sheehan finished tied for seventh at an even 216 after carding a 2-over, 74, in Tuesday’s final round.
Junior James Allen finished tied for 15th at 4-over, 220, following a 4-over, 76, in the final round. Allen collects his first top-15 finish of the season.
Sophomore Jake Griffin placed tied for 28th at 8-over, 224. Classmate Morgan Lofland fired a 3-over, 75, in Tuesday’s final round, finishing in 33rd place at 9-over, 225. Freshman Billy Pabst Jr. carded his best round of the tournament Tuesday, shooting a 1-over, 73, to finish in 38th place at 11-over, 227.
The Nittany Lions have a quick turnaround and return to action Sunday and Monday at the Quail Valley Collegiate in Vero Beach, Fla. for their final tournament of the fall season.
