Rikke Nordvik Named Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 12, 2022) – For the second time this season, a Rutgers women’s golfer has been named Big Ten Golfer of the Week. After winning the Rocket Classic in Port Clinton, Ohio this week, junior Rikke Nordvik received Co-Women’s Golfer of the Week honors from the conference on Wednesday.

Nordvik’s first-place finish at Catawba Island Club was the first of her collegiate career and she helped lead the Scarlet Knights to their first team win since March of 2019. It is also the first Big Ten weekly honor of her career.

Nordvik joins Leigha Devine as RU golfers to win the conference’s weekly award, with Devine receiving the honor in September after a t-1 finish at the Badger Invitational.

“Rikke played consistent golf for us this week and we are happy to celebrate her first collegiate win,” head coach Kari Williams said. “The Catawba Island Club is a challenging course and Rikke managed herself incredibly well, limiting her mistakes and remaining patient. Rikke has worked hard to improve her game and continues to push herself and this team to compete at the highest level, and we are proud that she has received this conference honor.”
