Lady Vols Compete in Opening Rounds at Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational


CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Tennessee’s women’s golf team competed in the opening rounds of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Monday. Play was suspended in the second round due to lightening and darkness, and the Lady Vols are through 35 to 36 holes.
 
The second round will continue at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday and teams will continuously play into the final round.
 
Vanessa Gilly made three consecutive birdies to card a first-round score of 74 (+2). In the second round, the junior shot -1, marking her third par or better round of the season. Gilly is currently tied for 20th place at +1.
 
Manassanan Chotikabhukkana posted a 78 in the first round before picking up momentum in round two, making three consecutive birdies to post -3 on the front nine. The freshman is tied for 34th at +4 overall with one hole left.
 
Sophomore Bailey Davis carded two 74s and is tied for 34th place at +2. Caroline Patterson shot +3 in the first round and logged a 77 in the second round. The freshman is tied for 53rd place at +8. Kayla Holden recorded an 81 in the first round but picked up momentum to card a 73 in round two. The junior is currently tied for 62nd place.
 
The Lady Vols are in 11th place at +13 ahead of continuation of the second round.
