WEST POINT, Miss. – The Illinois women’s golf team opened The Ally tied for fourth place after carding a 36-hole team total of 602 (+26) heading into Tuesday’s final round at Old Waverly Golf Club.

Crystal Wang ended the day in first place at five-under, two strokes ahead of SMU’s Mackenzie Lee and Ellie Szeryk, after firing rounds of 68 (-4) and 71 (-1). Wang has posted seven rounds under 70 through the first 10 rounds of the season. The Diamond Bar, Calif., native, totaled 10 birdies in the first 36 holes of the tournament, which leads the field. She has the chance to be Illinois’ first event winner since 2019, while also being poised to finish in the Top 5 for the third-straight tournament.

Isabel Sy also finds herself in the Top 20, ending the day tied for 17th, after posting rounds of 76 (+4) and 73 (+1). Sy recorded four birdies in round two and then recorded a single bogey on the front nine to close out the day. Her 22 pars rank tied for seventh-most among the field.

Siyan Chen fired back-to-back rounds of 76 (+4) to end the day tied for 28th. Lexanne Halama shot an opening round 75 (+3) and a second round 87, and is 57th. She was one of four players to recorded an eagle on the course, doing so on hole 14 during her second round. Alise Knudson is 59th after rounds of 78 and 87.

SMU leads the tournament after posting a two-round total of 573 (-3) with Ole Miss (+3) and host Missisippi State (+15) rounding out the Top 3.

Tuesday’s third and final round begins with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. CT.
