WEST POINT, Miss. – The Illinois women’s golf team placed tied for sixth The Ally after carding a 54-hole team total of 905 (+41) at Old Waverly Golf Club.
Crystal Wang recorded her third-straight Top-5 finish with a tournament total of 217 (+1). Dating back to last season, Wang has placed in th Top 15 in seven-straight events. The Diamond Bar, Calif., native, totaled 11 birdies in in the tournament, which was tied for the second most among the field.
Isabel Sy recorded her second Top-20 finish of the season after posting a final round 74 (+2) to finish the tournament with a 223 (+7). Sy collected a pair birdies in her final round and went one-under (35) on the front nine.
Siyan Chen fired a third-straight 76 (+4) to end the tournament tied for 29th. Chen also recorded her first eagle of the season on the par 5 No. 2. Lexanne Halama finished The Ally tied for 49th after with a final round 75 (+3) and Alise Knudson finished 58th after her final round 79 (+7).
Ole Miss swept both the team and individual titles, with a 54-hole team total of 867 (+3) and Andrea Lingell finishing the tournament with a 213 (-3).
The Fighting Illini are back in action on Monday, Oct. 31, when they head to The Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla., to compete in the Hurricane Invitational, hosted by the University of Miami.
