Senior Jack Boulger used a pair of eagles on his final two holes for his fourth round under par this year to lead the USC men’s golf team during the first round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, Ga., on Friday (Oct. 21).

The Trojans combined for a 2-over 290, tied for 11th overall in the 14-team field. Host Georgia Tech and Clemson are tied for first at 12-under.

Boulger, who started the season with a win at the Husky Individual Invitational with a trio of sub 70 rounds, returned to the red Friday with a 1-under 71, good for a tie for 25th, thanks to a pair of stellar putts to close his day.

After a bogey on 7 left him 3-over through 16 holes, Boulger first eagled the par 4 8th hole by sinking a 65-foot putt. He then reached the par 5 9th hole in 2 and was true from 20 feet for his 71.

The pair of smooth strokes helped USC finish the final two holes at 6-under as the Trojans look to make a second-round move.

Freshman Mahanth Chirravuri is tied for 34th after a par round that saw him even on both nines. He is after his third top 20 this year.

Junior Krando Nishiba also secured an eagle today, his on the par 5 18th hole while he finished with a birdie on 9 during a 1-over round. He is tied for 45th.

Sophomore Gavin Aurilia is tied for 50th at 2-over while sophomore Jackson Rivera is tied for 58th at 3-over.

USC tees off in the 2nd round at 9 a.m. ET.
