INFINITUM (opens in new tab) on Spain’s Costa Dorada is one of Europe’s best destinations for both golfers and non-golfers.
With two varied Championship 18-hole golf courses, a nine-hole course, award-winning beach club with eight swimming pools and one of the region’s best restaurants, INFINITUM is a paradise with plenty on offer for visiting guests.
The golf offering at INFINITUM is spectacular, with the water-strewn championship Lakes course (home of this year’s ISPS Handa Championship in Spain on the DP World Tour and a three-time host of Q School finals); the more mature tree-lined Hills course, another championship layout that has also hosted Q School finals and is set amongst a gorgeous rocky backdrop; and the nine-hole Ruins, which has been recognised as one of the best short courses in the world that offers up an extremely fun challenge.
The DP World Tour Qualifying (Final) has returned to to the Lakes and the Hills courses, where golfers can test their skills on the same courses as some of Europe’s best professionals. The Lakes course has recently been upgraded, too, with new fairways laid using Bermuda Tifway grass to improve sustainability.
Bermuda Tifway 419 is one of the most durable species of grass due to it being heat and drought-resistant, and requires 60% less mowing in the winter to help ensure the reduction of fuel consumption.
The Lakes course is symbiotic with the gorgeous Séquia Major wetlands serving up a number of exciting water hazards and picturesque Catalan scenery. It was the venue for a famous ‘home’ win for local hero Pablo Larrazábal in April on the DP World Tour, when he claimed a thrilling one-shot victory after birdieing the final hole and closing with a Sunday 62 at the ISPS Handa Championship in Spain.
INFINITUM has been named Europe’s Best Golf Venue at the World Travel Awards for the last three years, but there is so much more to it than just the golf…
