McGinty Earns Big Ten Golfer of the Week Honors – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Caley McGinty has been named the Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week, announced by the conference on Wednesday. This is McGinty’s first career weekly Big Ten honor.

McGinty, who is the 21st-ranked player in the world in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, helped Ohio State to a tied-for-seventh place finish at the Jim West Challenge to close out the fall season earlier this week.

McGinty shot under par in two out of three rounds of the tournament. She fired a 71 (-1) in round one and a 70 (-2), tying her season-best, in round three. McGinty carded a 74 (+2) in the second round to finish with a total score of 215 (-1) and tie for 17th place.

This season, McGinty has played all 12 rounds and has a scoring average of 74.33, which is second-best on the team.

The Buckeyes are back in action when they begin the spring season Feb. 12-14, hosting the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
