The Illinois women’s golf team finished Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah in seventh place after carding a 54-hole team total of 842 (-22) at historic Medinah Country Club.

Crystal Wang led the Illini wth a second-place finish, the best of her career, shooting a bogey-free final round of 68 (-4). She finished the tournament at 14-under, setting new program record for lowest 54-hole tournament total, breaking a record that she set last season at the ICON Invitational (-13). The Diamond Bar, Calif., native, has now finished in the Top 5 in back-to-back events and has also placed in the Top 15 in six-straight. Wang posted an overall score of four-under on par 3s, the lowest among all golfers. Her score of seven-under par on par 4s was also tied for the second-lowest total in the field. Wang’s 15 birdies were the sixth-most in the tournament.

Wang is a graduate student studying business analytics.
