From the Coaches’ Eye – Hovland’s Analysis…
“Disappointing day to finish out the tournament,” said head coach Kelly Hovland. “We didn’t make enough birdies to keep up and needed to be more competitive to make a charge. Hopefully, this is a learning experience for the future and won’t diminish a great fall season. Two runner-up finishes and a top-50 national ranking will put us in a great position to start the spring season. I am really proud of Patrice and Nicha’s start to the season and look forward to seeing them continue to develop and grow as competitors. The offseason is a great time to rest, focus on school, and get stronger in the weight room. Statistically, it is clear where we need to improve, and we will spend the next few weeks focused on those areas before the holiday break. Our success starts with us, and if they are willing to put the effort in, they can develop into a championship team come time for the postseason.”
