KAILUA KONA, HAWAII – The Washington State women’s golf team concluded the first round of the 2022 Pac-12 Preview carding 13-over; 305 at the Nanea Golf Club in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
Sophomore Madelyn Gamble led the way for Washington State in the opening round of the 2022 Pac-12 Preview, as the Pleasant Hill, California native shot 1-over; 74. Gamble will head into Tuesday’s second round in a tie for 32nd.
The Cougars will begin the tournament’s second round in 11th place on the team leaderboard.
Freshman Emiko Sverduk collected a team-high three birdies in the first round, as she shot 4-over; 77. Sverduk is one of three Washington State golfers to place inside the top 50 on the player leaderboard, joining Gamble who is tied for 32nd and senior Darcy Habgood, who is tied for 40th after carding 3-over; 76.
Arizona State sits atop the team leaderboard after 18 holes of play at the 2022 Pac-12 Preview, as the 22nd-ranked Sun Devils carded 17-under; 275. ASU’s Ashley Mennne and Arizona’s Julia Misemer are tied for first place on the player leaderboard, as each golfer shot 7-under; 66 in the first round.
The second round of the 2022 Pac-12 Preview will get underway Tuesday, November 1. Tee time is set for 10:30 a.m. PT.
