The LET has announced that Fiona Harold has joined the Tour as its new Commercial Director. Harold was previously a key member of the commercial team at The Football Association where she led relationships with headline partners and managed a team responsible for activation across key properties including the England Men’s and Women’s teams, The Men’s and Women’s FA Cup, Community Shield, WSL and several grassroots initiatives including their flagship girls’ participation programme and The Disability Cup. She was also responsible for driving change and successfully implementing an overhaul across how digital campaign rights are delivered to commercial partners.
“I was thrilled to secure this role and I’m excited to have joined the LET,” Harold said. “Establishing my golf network and getting to know my new colleagues over the last few weeks has been really enjoyable. The LET is a small but passionate team of people, achieving a great deal with limited resources. Since joining, we’ve headed into the final few weeks of the 2022 tournament year which has seen a record-breaking 33 events take place. I’ve taken the opportunity to consult with a number of stakeholders and kicked off with a strategic review of our broadcast rights. I will also be looking at how we currently work with our valued group of partners and how we can develop this area. I can already see how much opportunity there is.”
Harold has always loved playing and watching sport and regards it as a privilege to work in the industry. Her background lies predominantly in football where she held various roles in agency, rights holder and brand side, including with IMG, Barclays and The Football Association. She continues to be involved in grassroots football through her children.
LET CEO Alexandra Armas said: “We’re delighted to have Fiona on board and she is already making progress with the strategic review. The timing is good and she has been able to bring in her existing network which can open up opportunities and create fresh thinking. As everyone knows, Women’s sport is on an exciting journey and like other major sports, we want Women’s golf to be visible around the world, we want to continue growing the investment and prize money for our members and in the process inspire and develop the next generation.
