Another tour pro has joined the growing number of dissenting voices speaking out against the current world ranking formula.
David Micheluzzi, who plies his trade on the PGA Tour of Australasia, finished sixth at the Australian PGA Championship at the weekend, earning 2.01 ranking points in the process.
However, that is less than half of the 4.48 points he received for finishing tied for ninth in the same event in January in a weaker field.
This year’s tournament, unlike the previous edition, was co-sanctioned with the DP World Tour.

Micheluzzi was not impressed, taking to Twitter to post screengrabs in order to highlight the difference between the two events.
“There is two photos I’ve posted, one is a result I had at the Aus PGA at the start of the year which was just an Aus Tour event I came ninth and got 4.48 points,” he wrote.
“The other is last week a DP tour event with Cam [Smith] playing, I came sixth and got 2.01 points. WTF is this s**t!”
