ASU Battles Windy Day, Finishes Day Two in Fourth


Luke Potter is tied for sixth and Arizona State is fourth after a windy day on day two of the 2023 Southwestern Invitational.

With winds reaching nearly 25 mph, 10 of the 12 teams in the field shot worse on day two than Monday’s opening round. 

Arizona State finds itself at fourth overall in the 12-team field at 3-over after shooting 304 (75-75-75-79=304/+16) in the second round of action. 

ASU finished the day with the second most holes most under par holes in the tournament, with 41 birdies and three eagles through two rounds of play.

Potter finished the day strong with 2-under on the back nine, looking to build momentum going into Wednesday.

The Sun Devils will look to bounce back strong in fair conditions in the final round at Pepperdine. Pairings and tee times for Wednesday will be announced late Tuesday night. Coverage will begin on the Golf Channel at 1:30 MST and live stats will be provided on Golfstat.com
