WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – Washington’s Teddy Lin will head into Wednesday’s third and final round of the Southwestern Invitational in fifth place, just four shots back of the lead, after firing his second straight under-par round Tuesday.

As a team, the Huskies held steady in sixth place after a 7-over team score of 295. Lin, who carded a 4-under 68 in Monday’s first round, shot a 1-under 71 in round two at North Ranch Country Club.

Windy conditions meant that scoring was up on day two of the three-day event. None of the 12 teams in the field were under par Tuesday, while only 10 of 66 players in the field were below par for the round.

Lin had four birdies and three bogies on his scorecard in round two, carding a four on three different par-5 holes. He’s just one stroke behind a group of three players in second place at 6-under, and four back of leader Jacob Sosa, who shot a 61 on Monday, followed by a 74 in round two.

Lin is joined in the top-10 by Husky teammate Taehoon Song, whose 2-under 70 was one stroke off the lowest round of the day. Song is tied for 10th at 1-under for the tournament.

Senior Petr Hruby made four birdies, but had two doubles and a triple to finish round two with a 6-over 78. At 7-over for the tournament, he’s tied for 37th.

Huskies Bo Peng and Joshua Koo are both tied for 45th, at 9-over overall. Both shot 5-over 77s on Tuesday.

The third and final round gets underway Wednesday morning. The Huskies will begin play at 9:10 a.m. PT. The Golf Channel will provide live coverage beginning at 1:00 p.m. PT.
