Badgers in 3rd after first round of Puerto Rico Classic


RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico — Wisconsin men’s golf has completed the first round of play in the 2023 Puerto Rico Classic. At the end of the first 18 holes, the Badgers are in third place, led by Maxime Legros and Coalter Smith who are in the top-10 among nearly 80 golfers.

Sunday, Feb. 12

Round 1

The Badgers started off the spring season strong, tallying a 282 (-6) in round one of the Puerto Rico Classic to land them in third place out of 13 teams. Legros and Smith led the Badgers, each shooting a -2 to T10 with four birdies to get them below par. Right behind the two leaders were Cameron Huss and Clayton Tribus, also below par with a -1 to T19. Daniel Aas rounded out the lineup for Wisconsin with a +4 to place in 66th.
