Penn State Finishes Tied for Sixth at Gators Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Patrick Sheehan and Jake Griffin both finished in the top 15 as the Penn State men’s golf team tied for sixth in a strong team field on the final day of competition at the Florida Gators Invitational Sunday at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
 
The teams played the final quarter of the second round in addition to the third round Sunday following a lightning-shortened opening day Saturday. The Nittany Lions finished the 54-hole tournament at 27-over, 867.
 
Sheehan and Griffin both finished tied for 14th at 3-over, 210. Both Nittany Lions collect their third top-15 finishes of the 2022-23 season.
 
Junior James Allen placed tied for 34th at 8-over, 218. Senior Jimmy Meyers finished at 13-over, 223, to finish tied for 54th. Sophomore Morgan Lofland placed 74th after finishing at 26-over, 236.
 
The Nittany Lions return to action March 6-7 at the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C.
