2023 WM Phoenix Open

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler and Nick Taylor were locked in a close duel down the stretch on Sunday at the 2023 WM Phoenix Open, with Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas all giving chase.

Talk about a Super Bowl appetizer.

After Taylor made his first bogey of the final round at TPC Scottsdale on No. 16 and lipped out for birdie with a horseshoe missed putt on No. 17, Scheffler took a three-shot lead to the final hole and cruised to the win at 19-under for his fifth victory on the PGA Tour over the last 364 days. Taylor finished second at 17 under, with Rahm third at 14 under.

With the win, Scheffler will return to world No. 1, a title he held last season after rattling off four wins over six starts from the Phoenix Open to the Masters.
