English Turn Golf and Country Club (New Orleans, La.)

Par 72 | 6,326 yards

Weather: Sunny, 50s, 10-15 mph winds

Devine got off to a strong start, rolling in a birdie on the par-5 2nd hole. She carded 14 pars on the day to pace the team.

Rossettin put in a birdie on the par-5 11th, while rolling in 11 pars on her opening round. Ewing, meanwhile, was able to card a pair of birdies on the 8th and 13th holes.

“We’ve come to know this course as a good challenge over the years and today was no different,” head coach Kari Williams said of the team’s performance. “With the wind blowing all day, it was difficult to keep the ball on these firm and fast greens. The landing areas were very small and we had to rely on getting up and down throughout the round. Leigha and Lu did a great job maintaining their composure and leaned on their short games. Tomorrow we need to do a better job scrambling and limiting our mistakes but I’m confident this team will bounce back.”

Round two of the tournament is set for Monday morning at 9 a.m. ET.
