Members of the Washington golf team get back in action this coming Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 20-22, as three Huskies will play as individuals at The Prestige, in La Quinta, Calif., near Palm Springs.

The three Huskies – Aiden O’Hagan, Robert Galligan and Patrick Hong – and members of 16 other programs will compete on the par-71, 7,100-yard Greg Norman Course at PGA West, playing one round per day.

“This is a great opportunity for the guys to get some tournament experience,” said UW head coach Alan Murray. “The individual tournament at The Prestige is always competitive and there will be some really good players competing.

“With Pac-12s and the Western Intercollegiate both being 6-count-5 format, we are going to need to have our sixth guy playing as well as possible to be able to contend in those events,” Murray continued, “so the chance to compete in Palm Springs will help the guys develop some momentum as we head into the business end of the season.

“I’m Excited to see what Aidan, Robert and Patrick can do in the desert,” Murray concluded.

Most recently, the Huskies were on the Big Island of Hawai’i where, despite twice trying beginning play, the Amer Ari tournament was canceled due to high winds. The Dawgs made do, however, beating No. 2 Auburn, 3-2, in a hastily-arranged, five-man match.

Following this tournament, the full UW team will next play at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, March 6-7.
