PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The No. 24 Mississippi State men’s golf team is slated to begin the spring portion of its 2022-23 season on Sunday at the Watersound Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Florida State, will be played on the par 72 7,246-yard course of Shark’s Tooth Golf Club.

Of the 10 other schools featured in the competition, five currently sit in the Golfstat Top 25. The schools included are top-ranked Vanderbilt, No. 11 host-Florida State, No. 12 Georgia Tech, No. 16 Oklahoma State, No. 17 Alabama, Air Force, Clemson, NC State, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.

“We are really excited to get the spring season started,” head coach Dusty Smith said. “Our guys have prepared well and are eager to get back into some team competition. Our goal is to bring the best version of ourselves every day and to go out and compete like Bulldogs.”

Six Bulldog golfers will be competing in MSU’s spring opener; five in team play and one individual. Graduate student Ford Clegg, freshman Garrett Endicott, senior Hunter Logan and graduate students Ruan Pretorius and Austin Vukovits will make up the team competitors. Junior Harrison Davis will compete as an individual.

Davis will be the first Bulldog to tee off in the tournament, starting at 9:10 a.m. on the 10th hole. Vukovits will begin the competition for team play at 10:10 a.m. from the tenth tee, and the remaining four players will tee off in 10-minute increments from the same tee.
