Patterson Named SEC Freshman of the Week


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time in her young Lady Vol career, Caroline Patterson has been named SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Tennessee traveled to Humble, Texas, for the ICON Invitational, where Patterson carded two par or better rounds (71,69) at the Golf Club of Houston, bringing her season total to four. Her 69 in the final round consisted of only a single bogey, marking her second-lowest 18-hole score of the season. The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, native tied for 20th place at -3 overall, notching her second top-25 finish of 2022-23. The freshman now holds a season average of 73.56.

Patterson and the Lady Vols will head to Mesa, Arizona, to compete in the Clover Cup, hosted by Notre Dame, running March 10-12.
