CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – No. 19 Arizona Men’s Golf rose up the leaderboards on the final day of the Cabo Collegiate to finish the week in a tie for sixth at 19-over par. The Wildcats’ 7-over performance in the third round put them ahead of No. 4 Stanford, No. 14 Tennessee, No. 17 Alabama and No. 18 Oklahoma State for the tournament. Arizona senior Chase Sienkiewicz fired a 4-under round of 67 on Tuesday, which propelled him up into a tie for second place for the event at 5-under par.
“We didn’t card as low of scores as we hoped for today, but we were able to post a quality finish as a team,” said head coach Jim Anderson. “Congrats to Chase again for a strong performance for a second consecutive day, which gave him a well-earned runner-up finish for the tournament. While we have a lot to grow from this week, I am pleased with where we finished in a field of some of the best teams in college golf.”

With rounds of 73, 68, 67 this week, Sienkiewicz secured the third runner-up finish of his career and his first since the NCAA Bryan Regional last year. It ties the team’s best individual finish of the season, tying Cal McCoy’s second-place finish at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate in January.
The Wildcats’ second top-20 finish came from senior Chaz Aurilia who carded rounds of 73, 72 and 71 to finish 3-over and in a tie for 19th. This week marked his third top-20 finish in his last four events.
Arizona will return to action to host its annual Arizona N.I.T event at Omni Tucson National, which begins on Friday, March 17.
