Arora Named SEC Golfer of the Week

KNOXVILLE  For the first time in her young Lady Vol career, Angela Arora has been tabbed SEC Golfer of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Tennessee traveled to Mesa, Arizona, for the Clover Cup, where Arora led the field the entire tournament, carding three under-par rounds to put her at -11 overall (69-68-68). Her 54-hole score of 205 is the third-lowest in program history, following LVFL Anna Newell‘s 198 (-18) at the 2015 Las Vegas Showdown, and current Lady Vol Bailey Davis’ 203 (-10) at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate earlier this season.

The freshman holds a 72.11 stroke average and has totaled five round of par or better since joining the Lady Vols in January 2023. Her victory marks the first individual tournament champion under head coach Diana Cantu. The last Lady Vol to notch a first-place finish was LVFL Mikayla Bardwell during the 2020-21 season, where she tied for the top spot at the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic with a 54-hole score of 213 (69-74-70).

Arora and the Lady Vols will head to Sunset, S.C., to compete in the Clemson Invitational, their last regular-season tournament of 2022-23, running March 24-26.
