Women’s Golf Begins Play at MountainView Collegiate


The Missouri women’s golf team opened the MountainView Collegiate in Tucson, Arizona on Friday, carding a 2-over 290.

The Tigers ended the day tied for 12th place within the highly ranked slate of teams that features 11 within the GolfStat’s top 50 list.

Freshman Jade Zamora led the way for Mizzou, firing a 1-under 71 to mark her second round under-par within four rounds. She enters tomorrow slotted in the top 20 of the leaderboard.  

Following just one stroke behind her teammate, junior Emily Staples closed out the day even-par. Her score was anchored by a bogey-free front nine which featured three birdies. Staples will tee off tomorrow tied for 31st place.

Mizzou is slotted again in the first group pairing of tee times for tomorrow’s second round with the first Tiger taking the tee box at 8:00 a.m. MST.
