TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Cold and windy conditions made Seminole Legacy Golf Club extremely difficult as Purdue Women’s Golf finished the Florida State Match Up in sixth place. The average score was 78.66 during the final round, and the Boilermakers shot 309 (+21) to match pairing partners Kent State and Tulane.
Despite sitting in the middle of the pack on the leaderboard, Purdue finished third among the field in birdies (36), par-4 scoring (+42) and par-5 scoring (E). No. 12 Florida State, the tournament host, ended the event at level par for a 25-shot victory over runners-up Augusta (+25).
Kan Bunnabodee and Ashley Kozlowski tied for 15th at 10-over through 54 holes. Both Boilermakers earned their second Top-20 performances of the season, while Bunnabodee’s finish was her season best.
Danielle du Toit (+13) and Momo Sugiyama (+14) cracked the Top 25, placing 23rd and 25th, respectively. Daniela Ballesteros’ 76 (+4) led Purdue in the final round, as the senior made a team-best four birdies. Ballesteros played the par 5s 3-under throughout the tournament, ranking fifth out of the 65 golfers in the field.
Up next, Purdue continues a stretch of playing three straight weekends. The Boilermakers remain south by heading to Georgia for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic (March 24-26).
