HOUSTON, Texas – Redshirt junior Jake Hall shot 7-under on the day to hold a share of the individual lead in the 108-man field and the 14th-ranked Tennessee men’s golf team is tied for second place entering through two rounds at the All-American Intercollegiate.
The Vols were 2-under as a team on Monday—even par in round one and 2-under in round two—with four par or better counting rounds.
Hall carded a 4-under score in round one that included an eagle and three birdies. The Knoxville native continued his momentum into round two and produced five more birdies en route to a 3-under 69.
In addition to Hall, Caleb Surratt also provided two contributing rounds. The true freshman shot even-par in round one, and logged a 1-under 71 to close out the second round. Surratt sits tied for 11th place entering Tuesday and has now registered 15 rounds of par or better during the 2022-23 season.
Three strokes behind Surratt is Bryce Lewis, who shot a pair of contributing 1-over 73s in both rounds to get to 2-over for the tournament. The redshirt junior is tied for 28th place after two rounds.
Lance Simpson posted a two-round total of 4-over, including a round two 73. The redshirt freshman enters day two tied for 44th place.
Cade Russell was the final member of the Tennessee lineup. The redshirt sophomore shot 7-over on Monday and is tied for 65th place.
On day one of the All-American Individual, Josh Hill and Laurent Desmarchais both shot a two-round total of 4-under with a 3-under 69 in the first round, and a 1-under 71 in the second round. The pair enters the final day tied for second place.
Also competing in the All-American Individual is Evan Woosley-Reed who shot 6-over through two rounds and currently sits in sole possession of 15th place.
