Five Things to Know: The Hootie at Bulls Bay


MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin men’s golf heads to Awendaw, South Carolina to continue back-to-back weekends of golf in the South with The Hootie at Bulls Bay. Hosted by the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina at Bulls Bay Golf Club, the Badgers will play a total of 54 holes from Sunday, March 26 to Tuesday, March 28. 

Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:

1. Last Time Out: The Badgers last competed at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia, where they placed sixth out of 14 teams. Daniel Aas earned top honors for the Badgers, tying for 16th place overall with an even-par performance thanks to a thrilling hole-in-one on the first day. Cameron Huss finished closely behind at T22 with 1-over, while Clayton Tribus tallied a +4 to T30. Maxime Legros completed the three-round invitational with a +6 to T42 and Coalter Smith rounded out the lineup, tying for 48th place with a +7. Max Schwarz competed as an individual, tying for 63rd with a +10. 

2. The Course: The Hootie at Bulls Bay will be played at the Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C. on a par-72, 7,349-yard course. Placed on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, Bulls Bay features 75-foot elevation changes and 360-degree views. At Bulls Bay, golf is the only attraction and the club prides itself on the pure golf experience they offer. 

3. The Tournament: The competition will be held from Sunday, March 26 to Tuesday, March 28, with 18 holes being played on each day. Tee off is set for 8 a.m. CT on Sunday and Monday, and 7 a.m. CT on Tuesday.

4. The Field: Teams competing include College of Charleston, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee, Furman, Kent State, Kentucky, Missouri, NC State, Purdue, South Carolina, VCU, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin. In the lineup for the Badgers are Daniel Aas, Cameron Huss, Clayton Tribus, Maxime Legros and Coalter Smith.
