Illini Set for Clemson Invitational


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illini women’s golf is set to compete in the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, hosted by Clemson. The three-day tournament will be played on Friday, March 24, through Sunday, March 26.

THE SETTING

The Clemson Invitational is held at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. The course was designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2002. The course will be set up for a par 72 and will play 6,386 yards long.  

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

There will be 16 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament. Tee times on Friday and Saturday begin at 8:00 a.m. CT and Sunday will feature an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start.

THE FIELD

Along with the Illini, the 16-team field for the Clemson Invitational will include Clemson, Columbia, FAU, Furman, Kent State, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UNC-Wilmington, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

ILLINI AT CLEMSON INVITATIONAL

This will be the third-straight year and fourth time overall that the Illini will compete in the Clemson Invitational. In last year’s event, the Orange and Blue finished second out of 17 teams carding a 54-hole total of 892 (+28). Illinois finished fifth in the 2021 edition and fourth in 2019.

Live scoring for the Clemson Invitational will be available on Golfstat.com. A recap and results will be posted on FightingIllini.com following each day of play.

UP NEXT

The Illini head to Columbus, Ohio, to play in the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational on April 15-16 at The Ohio State University Scarlet Course.
