Following trips to South Africa and Singapore on the Ladies European Tour (LET), let’s take a closer look at the Team Europe standings ahead of this year’s biennial tournament.

The 2023 Solheim Cup will take place from September 22-24 at Finca Cortesin in Spain – the first time the country will have hosted the prestigious competition.

Suzann Pettersen is at the helm and her European team will be comprised of the top two players from the LET Solheim Cup standings, six players from the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, and four captain’s picks. Qualifying commenced on 9 September 2021.

After six events this year, Sweden’s Maja Stark still leads the way at the top of the LET Solheim Cup points list.

Stark has not played on the LET since storming to victory at the Lalla Meryem Cup, but with six wins under belt belt in just 18 months, the 23-year-old continues to hold a healthy lead on 208.17 points.

Just behind her is compatriot and friend Linn Grant, who now sits on 192.50 points after finishing fourth at the Aramco Team Series – Singapore individual event.

Leading the charge on the Swedes is Spain’s Ana Peláez Triviño with 113.17 points. The 25-year-old has showed excellent consistency over the past three events, recording runner-up finishes at the Joburg Ladies Open and Investec South African Women’s Open before placing T28 in Singapore.

Dreaming of competing at a Solheim Cup in her hometown, Peláez’s strong performances mean she’s overtaken Belgium’s Manon De Roey who now sits in fourth place with 94.75 points.

Spain’s Carlota Ciganda, Slovenia’s Pia Babnik, England’s Georgia Hall and France’s Celine Boutier then all remain in close proximity behind her.

England’s Alice Hewson and Czechia’s Klara Davidson Spilkova make up the rest of top 10 having made solid starts to 2023.

With a seven week break now scheduled on the LET, qualification will resume at the Jabra Ladies Open on May 11. Join the conversation on socials @LETgolf using the hashtag #SolheimCup2023 and #VamosGirls.
