Huskies Move Up On Day Two At PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX – The Washington women’s golf team shot a 2-over 290 in Saturday’s second round of the PING/ASU Invitational, taking 12 strokes off of its first-round total, while moving up three spots into 10th place.
 
Through two rounds, the Huskies’ team total is 16-over 592. The tournament wraps up Sunday with round three at Papago Golf Club.
 
Husky juniors Camille Boyd and Stefanie Deng each finished the day 1-over par through two rounds, good for a tie for 17th place.
 
Boyd had the low round of the day for the Huskies. Thanks to five birdies and three bogies, Boyd carded a 2-under 70 in round two. Deng shot a 2-over 74, after having carded a 71 in round one.
 
Brittany Kwon had the second-lowest round of the day for the UW, with an even-par 72. Kwon’s scorecard included two birdies and two bogies. She’s tied for 58th place at 8-over overall.
 
Jamie Hsieh is one of those tied alongside Kwon. With a 2-over 74 Saturday, she’s also 8-over for the tournament. Kennedy Knox sits 12-over through two rounds.
 
Play continues Sunday morning, with the earliest tee times set for 7:30 a.m. PT.
