UT Posts Lowest Round of the Field on Day Two of Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – Three Lady Vols posted under-par rounds on day two of the Clemson Invitational, leading to an impressive 7-under team score at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Saturday, the lowest out of the 16-team field.
 
Tennessee’s single-round score of 281 (-7) is its ninth round of par or better this season and ties for the third-lowest 18-hole score of 2022-23. The Lady Vols jumped four spots from Friday and are now tied for fifth place at +4 overall out of the 16 participating teams.
 
UT was led by Caroline Patterson, who carded a 67 in the second round, tying the lowest single-round score of her career. The freshman’s 5-under performance consisted of six birdies and only a single bogey, marking her sixth round of par or better this season and putting her inside the top 25 (T21) ahead of the final round.

After logging an even-par round on Friday, Manassanan Chotikabhukkana shot -1 in the second round to record her 12th round of par or better this season. The freshman is tied for 12th place out of the 84-player field with one round to go.

 

Vanessa Gilly also had a strong showing, shooting 3-under on the back nine to card a 69 in the second round, marking her ninth round of par or better in 2022-23. Angela Arora, who shot an even 72 on day one, recorded a 74 (+2) in the second round. The pair is tied for 23rd place at +2 overall ahead of Sunday. Emily Hawkins carded a 77 on day two and is tied for 61st place at +11 overall.
