CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Following an eventful Week 12 that saw six Illini play through the weekend to complete strong finishes across the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Champions, action picks up again as we head to Week 13 and the final competitions before Masters week.
PGA Tour
Thomas Detry (T8) and Nick Hardy (T13) each posted their best individual finishes since October at the Corales Puntacana Championship at the Puntacana Resort & Club’s in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Detry’s finish was his sixth top-25 of the season and his second best overall finish since a tie for fifth at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in late October. Likewise, Hardy recorded his fourth top-25 finish off the season and his best since a tie for fifth at the Sanderson Farms Championship in early October.
The duo was also joined by tour veteran D.A. Points who tied for 38th to notch his first finish in four events in 2022-23.
This week, both Detry and Hardy will be in action at the Valero Texas Open at the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. It marks Hardy’s second straight appearance in the event, while Detry will make his debut at TPC San Antonio.
Korn Ferry Tour
Brian Campbell and Michael Feagles also played through the weekend at the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club, Savannah, Ga. Campbell finished at 8-under in a tie for 31st, while Feagles shot 3-under to tie for 64th.
Campbell has now made three consecutive cuts for the first time on the Korn Ferry Tour since the extended 2020-21 seasoner. Feagles notched his first finish of the season, through three events, after making 11 of 22 cutes as a Korn Ferry Tour rookie in 2022.
Both will be back on the course this week, when the Korn Ferry Tour heads to South America for the Astara Chile Classic at Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chiie.
LIV Golf
Thomas Pieters and RangeGoat GC are back in action this week as the LIV Golf makes a stop in Orlando, Fla.
Pieters will then set his sights on The Masters, playing in the prestigious event for the fourth time since making his debut at Augusta National in 2017.
PGA Tour Champion
Steve Stricker, and the rest of the PGA Tour Champions will be off until the Invited Celebrity Classic, April 21-23, in Irvin, Texas.
