Following a strong showing at the Lamkin San Diego Classic three weeks ago, the Washington men’s golf team looks to continue to build upon a promising spring season at The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford University.

The Goodwin will be played at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, where 28 teams will play three rounds over a three-day period from March 30 through April 1. Tournament tee times are to start at 7:00 a.m. PT on all three days of the event.

The Huskies will field a full team of five for The Goodwin, along with one golfer competing as an individual.

  4. Chuan-Tai Lin
  5. Joshua Koo

Washington took third place as a team at the Lamkin San Diego Classic earlier this month, with senior Petr Hruby claiming medalist honors in his first career tournament win. The Huskies had success at The Goodwin last season, notching a first-place team finish in the 2022 competition, which took place at Stanford Golf Course.

“Really looking forward to The Goodwin,” said UW coach Alan Murray. “Obviously, we won there last year, but it is a slightly different challenge this year, as it will be played at TPC Harding Park.

“The Goodwin is always a strong tournament, and we will see some of the best teams in the country there again this year,” Murray added.

Bringing the same group that showed well at the Lamkin San Diego Classic, Washington will look to continue its momentum from earlier in March, and to continue their ascent as a team.

“We have had a couple of weeks at home, and the guys obviously had their finals to contend with, so I think everyone is excited to hit the road and get back in the ring again,” said Murray. “This is the start of a big couple of months for the program, and we will be playing at a great combination of championship golf courses within very strong fields.”

Several PGA Tour events have taken place at TPC Harding Park, with the PGA Championship hosted recently, in 2020. The President’s Cup is also set to return to the course in 2025.

Looking ahead to next week, Washington will also send as many as three individuals to participate in the Seattle U Redhawk…
