Campos Wins First Career Medal at Anuenue Spring Break Classic

MAUI, Hawaii – Zoe Antoinette Campos earned the first individual title of her collegiate career with a score of 12-under (66-67-71) at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at Ka’anapali Golf Course on Wednesday. The UCLA women’s golf team finished third out of 14 teams at 10-under, 854, eight strokes back of first place.

No. 25 Pepperdine won the team title at 18-under. Campos ousted the runner-up, Tulane’s Carla Bernat, by two strokes.

Campos’ score of 12-under is tied for the fifth lowest 54-hole score in relation to par in program history. The last Bruin to shoot 12-under or better was Patty Tavatanakit at the 2018 ANNIKA Intercollegiate (-13).

Senior Annabel Wilson also picked up her second top-20 finish of the season, tying for 11th at 2-under (71-69-74). Wilson’s performance marked the first under-par tournament finish of her collegiate career.

Two other Bruins notched top-20 placements: Alessia Nobilio (T-17th; E) and Yuki Yoshihara (T-19th; +1). It was Yoshihara’s third top-20 of her career and first since the 2019-20 season.

Caroline Canales finished strong on day three with seven birdies for a 3-under 69 to move 24 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 28th. She was 4-over for the tournament.

Next, UCLA competes at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif. at Silverado Golf Course, beginning Monday, April 3, for its final tune-up before postseason play.
