Final Grouping - Stanford University Athletics


SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – No. 5 Stanford men’s golf shot a 3-over 283 on Friday morning at TPC Harding Park and is currently in fourth place with 18 holes remaining at the 2023 Goodwin. The Cardinal will play in the final grouping on Saturday afternoon with Georgia Tech, Oklahoma and San Diego.

Stanford is led by its pair of juniors, as Karl Vilips is tied for fifth at 3-under and Michael Thorbjornsen is tied for ninth at 2-under through 36 holes. Senior Barclay Brown is tied for 16th at 1-under. 

The Cardinal held the 18-hole lead, but was overtaken on the leaderboard and now sits at 4-under. Georgia Tech leads at 13-under, followed by Oklahoma (12-under) and San Diego (6-under). Those three schools, along with Stanford, will comprise the final grouping and will tee off in foursomes beginning at 1 p.m. off the first tee. The Cardinal’s three individuals will also tee off No. 1 starting at 12:24 p.m.
