Virginia Men's Golf | UVA Set for Augusta Hawkins Award Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 22 Virginia men’s golf team returns to Georgia this weekend when the Cavaliers play in the 43rd edition of the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational presented by Valspar. The two-day, 54-hole event takes place April 1-2 at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

The event will begin with an 8:30 a.m. (EST) shotgun start on Saturday with continuous play being used for the 36 holes of competition. Sunday’s final round will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The tournament field includes Augusta, Air Force, College of Charleston, Florida, Illinois, ETSU, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, UCF, Oklahoma State, Texas and Virginia Tech.

Virginia will field a lineup that includes Chris Fosdick, Ben James, George Duangmanee, Pietro Bovari and Jack Montague. James enters the tournament with a team-best stroke average of 69.67. He is ranked 23rd in the current Golfstat individual rankings.

UVA is paired with Notre Dame and Florida for the first day of competition. Those teams will start their rounds from the seventh thru 10th holes.
