Barcos Finishes With Top Score for Utah Golf at The Goodwin

SAN FRANCISCO – For the second straight day, Go Nakatsukasa posted an even-par 70 and as a squad, the University of Utah men’s golf team finished 6-over on the final day of The Goodwin, which took place on Saturday at TPC Harding Park.

After matching his career-best with a 70 on Friday, Nakatsukasa duplicated that feat on Saturday with a round that started with a birdie on the par-5 10th. After having a difficult time on his next two holes, the freshman from San Diego rebounded with six consecutive pars to cap the back nine, then was 2-under on the front nine to lock up his second consecutive 70 and tie for 95th. Nakatsukasa finished 10-over for the tournament.

Javier Barcos was the squad’s highest finisher following his third consecutive 72, which gave him a 54-hole mark of 6-over, placing him in a tie for 60th. Barcos concluded his time in San Francisco by rattling off 13 consecutive pars and his total of 42 across all three days put him in the top 10 at The Goodwin in that statistic.

Utah’s second-best Saturday score came from Martín León, who was 1-over. León racked up eight pars on the front nine, where his day began, then played even golf on the front nine. His round was highlighted by a pair of late birdies that allowed him to finish 11-over for the tournament and tied for 111th.

Brandon Robison was 3-over during the final round, 7-over across all three days and tied for 77th. Braxton Watts tied for 117th. Utah’s team score on Saturday was 6-over, putting their 54-hole score at 25-over, landing the Utes in 21st.
