DURHAM – The Duke women’s golf team will stay local this week as the Blue Devils close the regular season by competing in the Wolfpack Match Play Invitational April 3-4 at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
South Carolina has been seeded No. 1, while Florida State (2), Virginia (3), Duke (4), NC State (5), North Carolina (6), Virginia Tech (7) and Louisville (8) round out the field.
The Blue Devils will face NC State at 8 a.m., on Monday to kick off the action on hole No. 10. The winning team will advance to face the winner of the South Carolina/Louisville contest at 1 p.m., Monday. The losing teams will also see action beginning at 1 p.m.
On Tuesday, the final matches will take place beginning at 8 a.m.
Duke will field a lineup of Megan Furtney, Erica Shepherd, Phoebe Brinker, Anne Chen and Andie Smith. Rylie Heflin will also be available as a substitute for the Blue Devils.
In match play, Shepherd owns a 12-5-1 record, while Brinker (7-8-1), Chen (7-7), Furtney (5-5-1) and Heflin (2-4-1) have also seen action over their Blue Devil careers.
