Freshman Park Tops USC Women’s Golf First-Round Efforts In Napa

Freshman Catherine Park fire a 2-under 70 to lead the USC women’s golf team into the top 5 after 18 holes of the Silverado Showdown on Monday (April 3), at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif.

The Trojans, playing without leading player Amari Avery, combined for a 6-over 294 to open their final regular-season tournament of the season tied for fourth, 10 shots behind first-place Northwestern

Park is tied for fifth and three off the lead thanks to her third round under par in her last seven outings. She went out at par with a pair of birdies and finished her final six holes at 2-under for a 70.

Senior Malia Nam used a pair of birdies on 13 and 14 to finish her final 8 holes at 2-under en route to a 2-over 74 and is tied for 13th.

Junior Christine Wang and sophomore Xin (Cindy) Kou are tied for 25th at 3-over while junior Brianna Navarrosa is tied for 37th at 4-over 76.

The tournament continues Tuesday and Wednesday
